I'm pulling out b/c it's filling up, plus my son was mad at me for keeping him up too late.
Can't wait for BG though.

The times for these 2 haven't turned out to fit with my work and family (and sleep) schedules. Hopefully next rounds.

Is there any space left in this? I only just realised that there was a separate 'Events' area which I hadn't RSVPd to... like I always say to my students, should've read the Outline more carefully

So I said I'd post the links that we discussed in chat during the Hangout here, but I in hindsight foolishly hung up, the window closed and it seems I didn't have log history turned on (don't know if you can get them back even if you do). My apologies! Does anyone have access to the chat record for the hangout? I just assumed it'd be saved somewhere. In the meantime I can list what I remember:
Hurricane Ranch conversations with Daniel, Kenneth, Vince, Hokai, Tarin (specifically, 3rd to 4th path):
www.pragmaticdharma.com/2011/01/hurrican...nch-dialogue-part-1/
Glenn Wallis' Speculative Non-Buddhism: speculativenonbuddhism.com/
Sailor Bob Adamson: www.sailorbobadamson.com/
Sailor Jerry: sailorjerry.com/
Buddha At The Gas Pump: batgap.com/
(it was a talk or talks of Adyashanti's that were particularly recommended)
Dennis Waite (Advaita writer): www.advaita.org.uk/
Brain Games (TV show): natgeotv.com.au/tv/brain-games/
Brian Greene (science writer): www.briangreene.org/?page_id=20
Through The Wormhole (TV show): science.discovery.com/tv-shows/through-the-wormhole
Philosophy and Dharma (Schopenhauer, Heidegger etc) - Greg Goode on nondualism in Western philosophy:
www.heartofnow.com/files/links.html#books.greg
Non-dualism in Advaita and Zen: elibrary.ibc.ac.th/files/private/Davis.L...and-Zen-Buddhism.pdf
Anything I've missed?
For those who weren't there, we talked about setting up some kind of reading group for regular Hangouts - possibly reading non-contemplation related books (if indeed there is such a thing

You forgot Alice in Wonderland, original version.
I love the book group hangout idea. I read books like some people drink beer. Glug glug glug glug. How hard would it be for us to agree on a selection? Alice in Wonderland was one most of us hadn't read. I'm open for anything.

Can I just say it never occurred to me that everyone hadn't read Alice in Wonderland. It was "before my time" too, but everyone I knew growing up read it over and over. It was a shared cultural reference. My husband reassured me it's like the Matrix. "I bet all these guys have seen the Matrix, and comment on the Buddhist stuff in it, right? It's like their Alice in Wonderland."

Super thanks for putting up the list of references from the hangout Rowan. Next time reminder to selves someone cut and paste the chat window before we hang up.

The woman (Ananta) I described as a hippie chick does some nice direct pointing.

Also I think Conscious TV was mentioned. I have it bookmarked right by BATGAP.

Sailor Bob and the Advaita Show Podcast

advaita.thepodcastnetwork.com/
I'd definitely be up for reading Alice.
