Holidays Zoom Meet was created by Kacchapa
In my log the idea of a zoom meeting for anyone here who wants to during the holidays came up. Just starting a topic for that. I'm not volunteering to host the zoom because I'll be offline and offgrid during much of that time. If one does get started I'll definitely try to attend!

I'm happy to participate. I think I can host, technically, though others are probably more proficient at these things.
I'm in Rio de Janeiro. Here's a summary of times in different cities, for the arbitrary day of January 12th. Basically things work worst if some people are in Asia and some in Europe at the same time. However either Americas + Europe or Americas + Asia is doable without anyone suffering too much.
www.timeanddate.com/worldclock/meetingti...p3=136&p4=152&p5=224
How about leave your name and city/time zone here by December 31st so we can get an idea of who is interested, how many and where you all are, and then we can pick a day in early January and a time of day that is semi-functional.
Or, if you want to be less organized, feel free to carry on arranging a date in some other manner. I'm happy not to do it.

Thanks Ona! I'm in US EST.
There's a good chance I'll have wireless access and pretty flexible schedule after the 1st week of January.

I'm happy to participate but would prefer a weekend as opposed to a weekday. I'm on central time in the US (GMT-6).

Given the feedback so far we're probably going to do something at roughly mid-day US Eastern, to best accomodate the range of time zones. If we do a meetup at roughly 13:00 US eastern can everyone note which days between January 10th and Jan 16th would work?

That's probably the worst time for me, if I've done my sums right (EST=GMT-5).
Given that I'm probably the outlier here, I suggest you guys fix something up to comfortably suit your average timezone and I'll see if I can make it?

Jan 10, 12, 15, 16, but the work days are really meeting-dependent.

I'm better off on weekdays. Weekends are usually scheduled heavily with socials and outings. BUT, I'll wait til the 31st and then see how the votes lean and see if we can't pick a workable day and time, or if necessary have two dates and times, and each can go to the one that works best, or both...

Yeah that should work, any day probably. Once we have the date I'll make sure to block work calendar - that will be the determining factor for me.

So my suggestion would be that the US Central/Eastern folks, who are the vast majority, come to an agreement as to time and day, and the peripheral folks work with that?
Perhaps to consider voting on:
Saturday the 9th of january: 10-12noon central or 3-5pm central or 7-9pm central?
or
Sunday the 10th of january: 10-12noon central or 3-5pm central or 7-9pm central?

Darn, I don't think I can.
My family and I are scheduled to work on the construction site this weekend. The contractors are waiting on us to get some of the grunt work done so they can carry on.
