As I was the main reason for this Thank You button being taken down I would like to ask you all
How does it feel without it? Do you miss it? Is it better without it?
All opinions welcome!
Thank you!

I think you were right, in that I now tend to reply with words to more posts instead of just clicking the thank you button. I think that's good for me.
However it also used to function to say "hey, I read that" even when I didn't really have anything to say, and that part doesn't really happen anymore. I used to value this feature as a writer, for assuring me that someone or other was bothering to read what I post. However, I don't think either of these reasons are particularly important reasons for possibly re-including it. I think the benefit of point #1 outweighs these second reasons.
What's everyone else thinking?

I have never been a fan of the Thank You button, so I'm fine without it.

Ona pretty much expressed the way I feel about it too. Miss it a little bit but mostly fine with it being gone.
For example, I really enjoy Ona's travelogue, history, Christian spirituality and other articles arriving for free all the time but rarely have a value-added comment.

Yes I also find it nicer without it. However I do see it being of use in Ona’s log! Is there a way to only “attach” it in her log?

Help - I'm okay with whatever, but I'm not sure I understand what it is about Ona's topic that makes the button useful there and not elsewhere.
Just asking for clarification.

Yes. That sort of button is common throughout social media. Here, it's a koan

If you call it a Thank You Button you oppose its reality...

He's teasing me because I said I like the feedback of knowing someone read my posts, even though I don't otherwise think the Thank You button is worth having. So he suggested (joking) to just put it on my thread.
