Post Date & Time - relative vs absolute was created by Michelle Stone
Before the upgrade, AN showed the absolute date of a post, e.g. "24 Jul 2010 04:41" and back when I was starting out on this path it was really useful to be able to look at how other peoples practice developed over time.
Now that we have relative dates, "6 months 3 weeks ago", I kind of feel that's harder to do.
It's not terribly important to me now but I wonder if anyone else has a view on it? I realise that relative dates are the modern trends on forums these days.

Within a topic, you can hover over the relative date of a post and a tooltip will show the absolute value.

I like relative for posts that have occurred within the last day or two (or maybe even the last week). But longer term I prefer the absolute...
