So on another forum I use the draft post I am writing gets autosaved to the forum system every few minutes. Thus if, in the middle of writing a 600 word missive I lose my internet connection, close the tab, etc, the post remains there interminably. Next time I go visit that forum there it will be, hanging out in the reply box at the end of that thread, until the end of time. (It is sometimes annoying in its own right, but it certainly is useful, especially in a country with less-reliable internet.)
Here, on the other hand, well, I have to remember to cut and paste my missive to a text file if I stop in the middle or sometimes I compose in a text file and then cut and paste it, if I remember that last time I was writing too much the connection dropped or I hit the back button by mistake and Ciao, My Beloved Essay...
Is this an adjustable feature?

Sadly no, not that I have seen. One of the feedback items from the survey was to use a more "modern" forum. While this is not old by any means, it has its quirks for sure.
