This is all very interesting
I liked the emails, but I was definitely reading their tone as tongue in cheek, which gives them a different (and apparently, intentionally so) vibe.
And salesmanship or not, the price is excellent. I know, because I'm a poor social worker. (Well, maybe the price just looks so good cuz of the exchange rate?? )

ETA: if only it didn't cost so much to fly across the pond... hehe

I would caution against the statements made that we have seen this all before. When we speak in generalities, than it is true that all methods of awakening present the same ideas. However it is appreciating the details that make all the difference in developing spiritually. There are degrees of excellence in how ideas are presented - one makes a grave error in assuming teachings are all the same. In particular it is very important that one is able to engage with a teaching and its community and personalize it to one's own individual narrative. Otherwise it is nothing more than dead concepts and ideas.

(I was curious, too. I don't know what journals even exist for this domain of study.)

The guy in charge is in the Psychology field, I would have to take it up with him. But honestly, we are thinking long term here - this research would be done over a good number of years. The research questions are still being defined at this point.
