Body locations for triggering Pure Land jhanas was created by Matthew Horn
I've come across a couple of pragmatic dharma pieces, linked below, describing body locations linked to Pure Land jhanas. Supposedly, placing gentle awareness on a chakra area is enough to trigger the PL jhanas, provided you're 3rd path or above and you have the requisite intent. The trigger for PL1 is the brow chakra. I believe Kenneth (re)discovered the PL jhanas years ago and developed this technique. I'll ask Kenneth more about this when I have time for another session with him, but in the meantime, does anyone here know of the trigger locations for PL2 through PL5?
I could also use any general tips you have for moving up through the Pure Land jhanas. Once I had some facility with dropping gross factors to move up through the form jhanas, and I figured out how to enter the 5th, it was relatively easy to move from 5th to 6th and so on from there; the action/intent of dropping grosser factors by which one moves from 5-8 is basically the same as that used to shift from 1-4. The PL jhanas seem more esoteric and it isn't clear how one ascends into the more refined states. This might explain in part why Daniel (and probably Kenneth) were only aware of PL1 and PL2 when the last edition of MCTB was written. I assume Kenneth discovered PL3-PL5 later on in the course of his own practice.
Thank you in advance for your help.

Yes, I read it soon after you posted but somehow forgot you had used brow chakra focus to enter PL1. Brain fart; sorry about that.

Sorry was at the airport when I responded. Have you watched the video with kennwth and nick before where they go through the jhanas?

If I may interject a question: do we want this topic to be "Members Only/Private" or can it be bumped into a more general location? I am going to be pushing harder to make some of our conversations more generally available, if possible. Of course, personal privacy trumps everything, and the starter of the thread can choose the visibility. But I ask the question because I don't think everyone even knows there is a distinction.

Feel free to make the thread public. I placed it in the "Personal Practice" category because that seemed most appropriate.
