Hello
I'm Brad from Southern California. I've been lurking around since April and thought that i should introduce myself.
I'm. a 62 year old recently retired high school teacher. I'm married and have a daughter who will, hopefully, be finishing college this year.
I've been practicing meditation off and on pretty much my entire adult life, having been introduced to it while I was in college. Since the pandemic, I've been sitting daily, though nothing heroic. i became a big fan of Daniel Ingram and MTCB. I've lurked around the DhO for years. I'm not that great with phenomenology or figuring out the Progress of Insight, but find it interesting. This is my first foray into an online community. I'm not even sure I have the basic tech stuff right to be posting properly!
Thanks to all who have contributed here and the DhO. I've learned a great deal and find myself passing it on to other practitioners.

Welcome,
Looks like you figured out how to post with no problem.
I used to live in Carlsbad, CA in the early 90's. I am 53 y.o., have five kids and live in Knoxville, TN. My triplets are currently attending the University of Tennessee (FR.) Phenomenology is not my strength either.
Next month, there is a medical conference in Ojai that I am planning to attend ( spending a few days in Santa Barbara ) It will be nice to do something with my wife even if there are lots of things closed due to the pandemic.

Thanks for the welcome
I'm thinking that you should have a good time in Santa Barbara/Ojai. There isn’t really much that is closed, but maybe some mask mandates. I really like the weather this time of year. And also the crowds have thinned a bit.
I hope you enjoy your trip!

Btw, you just made me realise the fact that Denmark is free of pandemic, most are vaccinated and all society is open. Pains me to read other countries still fighting this.
However Denmark did lock down heavily during one year at least and people did respect the rules. That helped a lot to keep the spread down. Then the vaccine came.
One could say “it’s easy to manage a tiny country like Denmark”. You are probably right.
I hope you all have this COVID situation behind you soon!
